NED - Logic and Protools email from apple

NED - Logic and Protools email from apple   submitted on Fri, 09/21/2007 - 21:01 in Logic Studio Pro Group by Serginho

This month we have some EXTREMELY cool stuff to announce. First and foremost, there's a new version of our N.E.D. software tutorial player available! This version includes many feature upgrades and is strongly recommended for all macProVideo.com members. But that's not all ... included in this mail is the following:

  • N.E.D. software update information.
  • Pro Tools 101: Mastering Pro Tools is available for pre-order.
  • Win a copy of Logic Studio, which includes Logic Pro 8.
  • Logic 303 is going up (in price, that is).
  • Logic 8 is here! Learn how this affects you.

Mac N.E.D. Update Now Available!

(Windows N.E.D. will be updated to the following feature set within the next 2 weeks)

Here at macProVideo.com, our N.E.D. software (Nonlinear Educating Device) sits at the foundation of our educational system. We think N.E.D. is simply the best tutorial video player around, and we are committed to innovations that will make N.E.D. even better.

You can already use N.E.D. to incrementally download tutorials, search tutorial videos by keyword, and resize or present videos in full screen mode. While that's some pretty cool stuff, we've just added the following features:

1. Full tutorial download control.

Visit the new Admin tab to administrate your account settings and enable or disable tutorial downloads. Control which videos download to your computer(s) and when. You can also enable and disable Demo tutorial downloads here.

2. Forum access inside NED.

Have a question while watching the videos? Visit the forums tab and get answers. At macProVideo.com, we don't leave you hanging after you've bought a tutorial ... we offer great follow-up even after you've watched our tutorials.

3. Move and delete tutorials.

New functions have been added to the Tutorial manager that let you move tutorials to different directories and hard disks, or free-up disk space by deleting tutorials you've already watched (you can visit the Admin tab and re-download deleted tutorials at any time).

4. Disc-based Archiving.

Use N.E.D.'s new, built-in burning features to archive tutorials to optical discs (DVD-ROMs or CD-ROMs). You can also use the "Play From Disc" option to create disc-based playback for your tutorials ... no need to keep them on your hard drive.

5. Easy tutorial transport.

You can install our tutorials on up to 5 computers. Burn a disc with a COMPLETE TUTORIAL INSTALLER included, making it easy to transport tutorials from your laptop, for example, to your desktop computer ...No need to re-download!

Pro Tools 101 is Now Available for Pre-Order

Pro Tools 7 101 - Mastering Pro Tools 7

We are finishing the edits on our Pro Tools 101 tutorials as I type. This 5 hour tutorial-video program was produced by one of our lead trainers, Paul Garay! Covering the fundamentals of editing, recording, and mixing music in Pro Tools, this tutorial program is a great basic primer in how to use Digidesign's premier audio editing application.

For more information, check out the tutorial page.

This tutorial program will be available September 25th, 2007. Until that time, pre-order the tutorial and save 25% by using the following coupon code:

Win a Copy of Logic Studio

Make no mistake, our Logic 303: Logic TNT tutorial continues to grow in both size and popularity. You can check out Logic Studio by subscribing to this tutorial today, because we've just released our "First Look at Logic 8" videos in this tutorial.

But even better, on October 14th, 2007, we will randomly pick 1 lucky Logic 303: Logic TNT subscriber to win a full copy of Logic Studio, including Logic Pro 8. If you have not subscribed to the Logic 303: Logic TNT yet, do so soon to be eligible for this prize!

Speaking of the Logic 303: Logic TNT ...

Logic 303: Logic TNT Price will Increase as of September 25th.

This is your last chance to lock into the Logic 303: Logic TNT at the low price of $39.50. As of September 25th, we will be raising the price of this tutorial to $49.50 (don't say I didn't warn you).

This tutorial has taken on a life of its own. We are adding more content to it than we originally planned, and we have guest "cameos" coming from some of the music industry's top producers. In fact, after only 4 months, this subscription already includes over 2 hours of videos, and it is constantly growing! Lock-in today and get at least 30 minutes of tutorials delivered to your computer every month, through N.E.D.

NOTE: If you've already purchased this tutorial, you don't have to pay extra. You are already locked-in!

Logic 8 Tutorial Upgrades

As noted above, you can already check out Logic 8 tutorials by subscribing to the Logic 303: Logic TNT tutorial subscription. If you've purchased any of our other tutorial programs, you might be wondering how the transition to Logic 8 will affect your training programs. Well, let me tell you ...

Tutorial Upgrades
At macProVideo.com, we generally give free upgrades to any tutorial that contains less than 20% new content. As Logic 8 includes a completely redesigned interface, all of the new tutorials will be 100% new content ... in other words, they will be completely new tutorials.

However, I am extending the following courtesies to our members:

1. Apple is giving free upgrades to anyone that bought Logic on or after August 1st. We're going to match that deal, and beat it. If you bought our tutorials after (and including) July 1st, 2007, we will give you free upgrades to the new tutorials, once they are available. If you have not already picked up the Logic 101, do so now and get a free upgrade to our Logic 8 101 ... it's like getting 2 tutorials for the price of 1.

2. If you purchased the Logic 101 before July 1st, 2007, upgrade to the new Logic 8 101 for 50% off the cover price of $49.50. I hope you will agree this is a fair deal, as it takes a lot of time, effort, and expense to produce these tutorials, so we can't just give them away for free.

3. Regarding the rest of the product line ... most of the tutorials work the same in Logic 8 as they did in Logic 7. There may be a few interface differences, but that's about all. As we have limited time and resources to update the close to 30 hours of training that is currently available, we are implementing the following roadmap.

  • Logic 102: Undetermined at this time
  • Logic 103: No upgrade Required
  • Logic 105: Replaced by Steve H's new Logic 201 (coming soon)
  • Logic 202: No upgrade Required
  • Logic 203: Replaced by Steve H's new Logic 201 (coming soon)
  • Logic 204: No upgrade Required
  • Logic 205: No upgrade Required

Clear as mud? If you have any concerns about this transition, please drop us a line by visiting the contact page of macProVideo.com:

http://www.macprovideo.com/contact/

That's a lot of news for the month, so I'll leave it at that for now!
